If you own and operate a bed and breakfast in Saskatchewan (or a guest house, a country inn, a vacation farm or any type of accommodation where each bedroom is unique and breakfast is included in the rate), read on!

To become a member of the Saskatchewan Bed and Breakfast Association, the B&B must first be inspected and accredited by a representative of the association. So if you want to become a member, please contact the association (email: bbsask@gmail.com or phone 306-789-3259) to arrange for an accreditation visit. Accreditation usually takes 1½ to 2 hours, and the one-time fee is $150. Accreditation is simplified if the owner already has their Vendor’s Licence (PST) from Saskatchewan Finance, whatever business licence their local municipal authority requires, and, if possible, a Certificate of Completion of a Safe Food Handling course. Accreditation means the inspector will ensure that the B&B meets all the requirements of the SBBA Quality Assurance standards.

Once the accreditation is successfully completed and the membership fee is paid , the B&B owner will receive a Black Rooster window-sticker and a Certificate of Membership suitable for framing. The B&B will also be listed right away on the association’s website and will receive all the other benefits of membership, including the right to use the Black Rooster on their marketing materials and the right to say they have been inspected and accredited by SBBA.
